European Group for Research into Elderly and Physical Activity – Institute of Sport and Exercise Sciences _EGRAPA

EGRAPA – a non-profit, non-governmental association (NGO), was born from the premise that the field of “Aging and Physical Activity” is an interdisciplinary field of study which involves professionals and researchers from very diverse areas. These areas include Medicine, Biology, Education and Health Care Services. Among the diverse disciplines we could cite Epidemiology, Exercise Physiology, Geriatrics, Gerontology, Healthy Education, Nutrition, Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Rehabilitation and Sociology.
EGRAPA provides a platform for researchers to exchange ideas and cooperate in joint projects. It also serves as a leader in creating expert opinions and broadening knowledge in the field of physical activity and aging. Interaction is a condition to make progress in this field. EGRAPA is a scientific organization that is opened to work and co-operate with other organizations with common interests.
One of the key activities of EGRAPA is the establishment of a scientific journal focusing on aging and physical activity. EURAPA – European Review of Aging and Physical Activity, published by BMC and Springer, is the official publication of EGRAPA. It fills an important niche in the study of physical activity in advanced age.

The objectives of EGRAPA are:

-To promote research in physical activity, aging and health.
-To diffuse this knowledge for the public good.

The functions of EGRAPA are:
-To serve as a coordinating and counseling agency
-To plan and direct scientific and educational meetings
-To publish and distribute new knowledge

Croatian Kinesiology Association

Association (CCC) is organized as an alliance of associations that brings together associations of kinesiologists of municipalities, cities and counties from the territory of the Republic of Croatia with activities in the field of education, sports, sports recreation, kinesitherapy and other related fields. Members of the association can be academic and teaching institutions that educate staff for the needs of kinesiology, sports associations and individuals, meritorious experts in these fields.
The goals and areas of activity of the Association are described in the Statute of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (Article 14):
As a professional organization, the Association aims to realize positive achievements of science that are achieved through the process of physical and health education, sports, sports recreation, kinesitherapy and other related areas, which directly contributes to the development of kinesiology, the improvement of educational programs, the development of science, the promotion of physical activities and sports, the improvement and advancement of physical and mental health, promoting healthy lifestyles, improving physical literacy and encouraging interpersonal tolerance.

Danish Institute for Sports Studies (IDAN)/Play the Game

We are a self-governing institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture. Our mission is to establish a general overview of and insight into the fields of sports and non-formal education nationally as well as internationally.
We analyse the implications and perspectives of policy initiatives within the fields of sports and non-formal education, and we initiate public debate on key issues regarding non-formal education and Danish and international sports politics.
Our vision is to be a leading knowledge partner that aims to qualify the work with key issues in sport and non-formal education, stimulate constructive political discussions, and find lasting practical solutions.
We analyse and share knowledge in the area of sport. Among other things, we look into the sports and exercise habits of the Danish population, sports facilities and sports associations in the Danish municipalities, sports economy and elite sports.
Our institute also includes the Danish Institute for Non-Formal Education (Vifo) and the international sports political initiative Play the Game.
Like Idan, Vifo is engaged in analysing and sharing knowledge – but with a particular focus on the area of non-formal education and democratic voluntary activity.
